Hyatt Breaks Ground on Caption by Hyatt Chattanooga, Expanding Innovative Hospitality Concept in Tennessee
Hyatt Hotels Corporation (NYSE: H) commemorates the groundbreaking of Caption by Hyatt Chattanooga in Tennessee, slated for an early 2026 opening. Developed by 3H Group Inc. through a franchise agreement with Hyatt, the Chattanooga hotel will uniquely blend upscale, lifestyle hotel design and comfort with the self-activation capabilities typical of select-service properties. This marks a significant expansion following the successful launch of the brand's first property in Memphis, Tenn. in 2022, with plans for further growth in key markets this year, both domestically and internationally.
The collaboration between Hyatt and 3H Group on Caption by Hyatt Chattanooga represents a milestone for the brand's expansion, particularly as it ventures into the vibrant downtown area of Chattanooga for the first time. The Chattanooga location, strategically positioned in a densely populated residential area with significant foot traffic, is poised to become a hub for the community.
Situated in downtown Chattanooga's trendy Southside area, known for its chic dining venues, cocktail bars, and the popular Chattanooga Market, the 123-room Caption by Hyatt Chattanooga will cater to both tourists and locals alike. It will feature the brand's signature all-day food-and-beverage concept, Talk Shop, serving as a lively gathering spot, alongside a rooftop bar and meeting space. Guests can expect contemporary style, high-quality amenities, and innovative self-service options, including a 24-hour market and dedicated spaces for work, relaxation, and dining.
In addition to Caption by Hyatt Chattanooga, 3H Group, Inc. has multiple franchise agreements with Hyatt, including the groundbreaking Hyatt Studios hotel in Mobile, Alabama, slated to open in early 2025.
Looking ahead, the Caption by Hyatt brand plans further expansion both domestically and internationally, with upcoming locations in California, China, Japan, Vietnam, and Australia. This expansion aligns with Hyatt's broader strategy to grow its portfolio of leading luxury and lifestyle brands, alongside its select-service brands like Hyatt House, Hyatt Place, and Hyatt Studios. With a record pipeline of 127,000 rooms worldwide as of year-end 2023, Hyatt continues to lead in net rooms growth, supported by the remarkable growth of its World of Hyatt loyalty platform, which now boasts 44 million members worldwide.
