Hotel Indigo Abha: A New Jewel in Saudi Arabia's Hospitality Crown

IHG Hotels & Resorts has taken a significant step in expanding its Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio with the announcement of a franchise agreement for the new-build boutique Hotel Indigo Abha in Saudi Arabia. This strategic move, in collaboration with Firdous Abha Hotel Holding Company and managed by Aleph Hospitality, highlights IHG's commitment to enhancing the hospitality offerings in the Kingdom's burgeoning tourism sector.

IHG has announced the opening of Hotel Indigo Abha, scheduled for December 2025, known for its neighborhood-inspired design and local cultural immersion. Set in the Arabian Highland, the hotel will feature 110 rooms, a restaurant, coffee lounge, MICE facilities, and a fitness room, blending comfort with the authentic charm of the region.

Haitham Mattar, IHG's Managing Director for India, Middle East, and Africa, underscored Abha's unique blend of adventure and relaxation, set amidst Saudi Arabia's most scenic landscapes. He emphasized the alignment of IHG's mission with the Saudi 2030 strategy led by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, aiming to contribute to the Kingdom's holistic development, particularly in the southern region. The goal is to support Saudi Arabia's tourism growth, helping to attract over 10 million visitors annually to the Aseer region by 2030.

Ayed Nasser Al-Qahtani of Firdous Abha Hotel Holding Company expressed pride in partnering with IHG, foreseeing a transformative impact on Abha's hospitality sector.
