Hoi An has surpassed Bali and Phuket to become the top destination in Asia for business travelers
The ancient city of Hoi An, Vietnam, has outperformed other regional destinations to be named Asia's Best Corporate Destination at this year's World MICE Awards in Germany.
In this category, it was ahead of Bali (Indonesia), Jaipur (India), Kyoto (Japan), Langkawi (Malaysia), Phuket (Thailand), and Siem Reap (Cambodia), according to VnExpress.
Hoi An was a bustling international port from the 16th to the 19th centuries, with merchant ships from various countries passing through. It has managed to preserve its tranquility and slow pace of life, making it one of the most renowned tourist hotspots in Vietnam.
The awards were determined based on the votes of industry professionals, media, and consumers.
As reported by TravelWise, despite Vietnam not being a top destination among Asian countries, some tourists face challenges when traveling to the country, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV).
