Helicopter flights are becoming increasingly popular in Goa
Those who have always dreamed of flying and travelling quickly across the enchanting Goa have finally gotten the opportunity. Today, both tourists and locals are boarding helicopters to travel in the air en masse.
It is noted that this became possible due to the decision of the State Tourism Council to launch a helicopter tourism service. Shikha Pandey, who, together with her father, realized her long-held dream and flew past the green landscapes of Goa, told about her first flight experience, the Times of India reports.
According to Pandey, they booked a 15-minute ride that cost Rs. 6,000 per person. She said the trip was worth the money and added, "Goa is a place that is familiar to most tourists in India. But to see it from the sky was a completely different experience... it felt like a different place, much greener and more peaceful."
Pandey and her father made this trip by helicopter with Hawk Aviations, a company that works with the Tourism Board. According to Anubhav Sharma, the demand for such trips comes from different segments of the population, and therefore this offer is becoming more accessible to everyone.
"There has always been a need. However, the prices were not affordable and it was always seen as an elite class offering. There were also some regulatory difficulties to get a permit. Now the procedure for obtaining a permit has been greatly simplified," Sharma said.
