Global passport index: Croatia has entered the top ten
The Global Passport Index 2023, which ranks passports based on freedom of movement, was recently published. This document grants its holders visa-free entry.
According to the latest report, Croatia was ranked eighth on the list. The United Arab Emirates took the first place, as its citizens enjoy visa-free entry to 180 countries. This was reported by croatiaweek.com.
Germany, Spain, France, Italy, and the Netherlands share the second position. Sweden, Finland, Luxembourg, Austria, and Switzerland are in third place. Denmark, Belgium, Portugal, Poland, Ireland, and South Korea have secured slightly lower places, while Singapore, Greece, Norway, Czech Republic, United Kingdom, Hungary, Japan, and New Zealand are in fifth place.
The sixth place is reserved for Slovakia, the United States, and Australia, while Malta, Estonia, Lithuania, neighboring Slovenia, and Canada are ranked seventh.
Croatia shares the eighth place with Latvia, Iceland, and Liechtenstein. Croatian citizens can travel to 172 countries without a visa and to 26 countries that require a visa.
The countries of the neighboring region follow Croatia. Serbia is in 32nd place, Bosnia and Herzegovina is 12 positions lower - in 44th place. North Macedonia and Montenegro are ranked 36th and 37th respectively. Slovenia has overtaken Croatia to take the seventh position. The list contains a total of 98 positions, with Syria taking the last place.
