From Turkey to Morocco: new direct flights from the UK
Despite the fact that the high summer vacation season is still ahead, travel industry experts expect many new routes to be launched from the UK in 2024. These include a variety of low-cost European cities from UK regional airports.
Among the most anticipated routes for summer vacations are flights to Dalaman and Antalya, Turkey, by Corendon Airlines. The new routes will be available from several British airports, writes TheScottishSun.
According to the announced plans, the Turkish airline will operate 27 flights a week between the UK and Turkey. The flights will be operated from London Gatwick, Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle, Bristol and Glasgow airports.
Jet2 will launch hundreds of new flights from Liverpool John Lennon Airport this year. The exclusive routes include Madeira in Portugal, Gran Canaria and Menorca in Spain, Rhodes, Zante and Paphos in Greece, and Burgas in Bulgaria.
Ryanair, one of the largest low-cost airlines, is launching new routes in 2024 from Norwich Airport. From April 1, the low-cost airline will start flying to three new destinations: Alicante, Faro and Malta, which will be operated every Monday and Friday.
British Airways will launch new routes from London to Agadir in Morocco in 2024. It will also launch new flights to Abu Dhabi from London Heathrow in April 2024.
WestJet has announced new flights from the UK to Newfoundland and Labrador in Canada. The London Gatwick - St. John's route will be launched on May 1, 2024. Currently, the direct route with a stopover takes about 14 hours, and the new direct route will take only 5 hours and 45 minutes.
New carrier Global Airlines will launch direct flights between the UK and the US in 2024. The airline will operate transatlantic flights from London to New York and Los Angeles starting in spring 2024.
This will put the airline in competition with traditional airlines such as British Airways and Virgin Atlantic, as well as with Norwegian low-cost airline Norse, which started flying between London and New York last August.
