Free pint for a drop of rain: Greene King pub announces nationwide beer giveaway
Britons can get a pint of beer for free for a drop of rain in Manchester. This initiative was announced by the local pub Greene King, noting that from March 25, a huge 9-foot-high raindrop detector will be installed in the Great Northern Warehouse.
Thus, as soon as a raindrop hits the detector's glass, which activates the detector, Greene King pubs across the country will start offering 1000 free pints to their visitors. This was reported in the Manchester Evening News.
It is noted that Manchester is considered the wettest city in the UK. That is why, in order to honor the relationship between the nation and the rain, it was decided to install the rain sensor in this place. The Greene King pub chain invited its customers to watch the development of events via a live broadcast on YouTube.
Eventually, it was officially announced that the rain detector had gone off, and so those wishing to receive their free pint of beer or other soft drink could do so within 24 hours at one of the chain's bars across the country. To do this, guests should say: "It's raining, we're pouring".
