Etihad Airways Enhances Travel Experience During Ramadan with Special Services
As the holy month of Ramadan approaches, Etihad Airways is gearing up to enrich the travel experience of its passengers. From the 10th of March, travelers flying with Etihad to select destinations will be treated to an array of special offerings designed to immerse them in the spirit of Ramadan, both in-flight and on the ground.
This year, Etihad’s commitment to embracing the essence of Ramadan extends throughout its services. Turky Al Hammadi, Head of Product and Hospitality, emphasizes the airline's dedication to reflecting Ramadan's values of reflection, kindness, and generosity in every aspect of the guest journey. The airline has meticulously planned its Iftar menu, focusing on traditional Emirati flavors with a modern twist, while prioritizing sustainability and local sourcing. Signature dishes like lamb bukhari and warm umm ali dessert aim to provide passengers with a taste of Ramadan’s heartwarming traditions.
In addition to culinary delights, Etihad offers dedicated prayer facilities, real-time Qibla pointers, and a special Ramadan entertainment program on its E-BOX system. Passengers can explore a variety of content that includes cooking shows, series celebrating Ramadan’s diversity, and religious programming, ensuring a holistic observance of the holy month.
The spirit of giving is a cornerstone of Ramadan, and Etihad enables its Etihad Guest members to donate miles to support global communities. Over 250 million miles have been generously donated, supporting causes such as The Reach Campaign to combat river blindness and lymphatic filariasis.
Etihad’s lounges in Abu Dhabi, New York, Washington DC, and London Heathrow will serve traditional Ramadan refreshments and meals, allowing travelers to break their fast with delicacies like lobster machbous ravioli and Vimto cheesecake. Economy and premium cabin guests will also enjoy specially prepared Iftar meals, ensuring that the spirit of Ramadan accompanies them throughout their journey.
For those arriving in Abu Dhabi, the city offers a rich tapestry of Ramadan experiences. From Iftar tents to cultural visits like the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, travelers can immerse themselves in the emirate’s cultural heritage and Ramadan observances.
