Emirates Elevates Osaka Flights with A380 Premium Economy Introduction
Emirates has announced a significant upgrade to its Osaka service, introducing the A380 aircraft equipped with its latest Premium Economy cabin from 1 June 2024. This move marks Osaka as the second Japanese destination to enjoy the airline’s newly retrofitted aircraft, promising an enhanced travel experience to Japan’s bustling city.
Starting June, the four-class A380 will replace the current Boeing 777-300ER on the EK316/EK317 flights to and from Kansai International Airport (KIX), offering 910 additional seats weekly. This expansion not only bolsters seat capacity but also brings the much-anticipated Premium Economy class to travelers, alongside refreshed First, Business, and Economy Class interiors.
Emirates’ commitment to Osaka is deep-rooted, with over 20 years of service culminating in more than 220,000 passengers transported across 360 flights in 2023 alone. The introduction of the A380, featuring 14 First Class suites, 76 Business Class lie-flat seats, 56 Premium Economy seats, and 338 Economy seats, embodies Emirates’ pledge to provide unparalleled comfort and service. Premium Economy, situated at the main deck’s forefront, offers a spacious 2-4-2 seat arrangement designed with the traveler’s comfort and convenience in mind, from enhanced seat pitch and width to in-seat charging points.
In-flight, passengers can indulge in Emirates’ "ice" entertainment system, with up to 6,500 channels, alongside gourmet dining and a broad beverage selection. The airline’s hallmark hospitality ensures a memorable journey, whether enjoying the onboard lounge in Business and First Class or the exclusive shower spa in First Class.
Following the successful launch of Premium Economy on the Dubai-Narita route in December 2023, Emirates continues to expand its distinguished service across 14 global destinations. The A380’s deployment to Osaka precedes the anticipated tourism boost in the Kansai region, highlighted by events like the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo. With daily services to Tokyo Narita and Haneda, Emirates strengthens its position as a key player in connecting travelers to Japan’s major hubs.
The airline’s focus on enhancing customer experience extends beyond the skies, with resumed Chauffeur-drive services in Tokyo Haneda for premium passengers and a complimentary shuttle for Economy travelers, ensuring seamless connectivity upon landing. As Emirates gears up for the Osaka service upgrade, passengers can look forward to an elevated journey that sets new standards in air travel comfort and luxury.
