Emirates announces return to Adelaide: flights will resume in October
Emirates has taken the latest step in restoring capacity to Australia by announcing its return to Adelaide.
Daily flights between the South Australian capital and the airline's hub in Dubai will resume on October 28, the Chaleej Times reports.
The resumption of the service will support the growing demand for travel to and from South Australia and allow passengers to conveniently travel between more than 140 destinations across Emirates' global network, offering choice, flexibility, and connectivity.
Emirates first launched its flights to Adelaide in 2012 and carried over 165,000 passengers between Dubai and Adelaide in 2019.
By December 1, when Emirates will also resume its second daily service to Perth, the airline will offer 77 weekly flights from Australia with the capacity to carry 68,000 passengers per week to and from Australia, returning to its pre-pandemic capacity.
As previously reported by TravelWise, Emirates is in discussions with the President of Madagascar to launch direct flights from Dubai, indicating a significant boost in tourism and international connectivity for Madagascar.
