Ecuador's Ministry of Tourism issued a reassuring statement, detailing the current situation in the country and affirming its commitment to ensuring safety for both citizens and tourists. Amidst recent governmental actions to reinforce security, the Ministry emphasizes the successful reduction of incidents and the gradual return to normalcy, particularly highlighting the unaffected nature of key tourist destinations like the Amazon and the Galapagos Islands.

Following the implementation of Executive Decrees 110 and 111, Ecuador has witnessed a notable reduction in disturbances. These decrees have been pivotal in establishing a legal framework for the armed forces and police, with the overarching goal of reinstating peace and security nationwide. This information has been confirmed by Travel2latam, which cites official sources in its report.

As of January 11, the situation in Ecuador is steadily stabilizing. The Ministry assures that strict security measures continue in certain areas, but routine operations prevail across most of the country. Tourist operations in the Amazon and Galapagos Islands proceed undisturbed, with hotels, guides, and local communities remaining tranquil and unaffected by recent events.

Cruise activities and air connectivity to key destinations like the Galapagos Islands and the Amazon are operational, ensuring uninterrupted accessibility and mobility for tourists. In the capital city, Quito, hotels, tourist services, and various activities operate as usual, without any reported service interruptions.

Ecuador's airports, seaports, and roads remain fully operational. Enhanced security measures are in place to ensure traveler safety, with key infrastructures continuing to function smoothly. Only a few specific flights experienced changes or cancellations, but they are now operating normally. The country's streets and highways are open and accessible, with a curfew from 11:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., and security on these roads is ensured through strategic controls by public forces.

Despite alarming images circulated by some media outlets, Ecuador is diligently working to restore normality. The tourism communities continue to welcome visitors with their renowned warmth and hospitality. The Ministry of Tourism encourages potential visitors to maintain their travel plans, assuring them of a safe and welcoming environment.

Ecuador, known for its rich cultural heritage, natural beauty, and unmatched human warmth, remains a captivating destination for travelers worldwide. The Ministry's statement reinforces the country's dedication to being a magical and safe place for tourists for a long time to come.
