Dusit Princess Phatthalung: A New Jewel in Southern Thailand's Hospitality Crown
Dusit Hotels and Resorts, a leading name in Thailand's hospitality sector, has recently inaugurated its latest gem, Dusit Princess Phatthalung. This significant expansion brings a new level of sophistication to the southern regions of Thailand. Located conveniently within an hour's drive from Trang Airport and slightly longer from Hat Yai International Airport, this resort is the 15th Dusit-branded establishment in Thailand, marking the brand's first foray into the far south.
The resort, themed as a 'resort-in-the-city,' offers 132 elegantly furnished guestrooms and suites, embodying the essence of luxury with up to 79 sq m of space. Dusit Princess Phatthalung aims to redefine leisure and business stays in the region, an area known for its rich cultural heritage and captivating natural wonders.
The design of the resort is a thoughtful homage to its natural environment and the local Krajood woven cattail handicrafts. The resort promises a serene oasis in the heart of the city, replete with family-friendly amenities like a sculptured swimming pool, children’s pool, and open spaces for Yoga and Muay Thai classes. The resort also actively promotes local culture with regular events that showcase the work of local artisans.
Dusit Princess Phatthalung is not just about serene stays; it also caters to the palate. The speciality restaurant, Chi Chiao, offers a culinary journey through Thai-Chinese street food classics, with dishes like pan-fried rice noodles with crispy sea bass and classic honey marinade char siu pork. Dusit Gourmet, meanwhile, offers a cozy ambiance for enjoying premium teas, coffees, and international favorites.
Phatthalung stands as a cultural beacon, being the birthplace of Nang Talung shadow-puppet plays and Nora dance theatre. The city hosts ancient monuments, temples, and unique natural landmarks like Khao Ok Talu. Adding to the city's allure are the Tai Nod Green Market and the Train Station Night Market, offering a plethora of local foods and crafts.
The strategic location of Dusit Princess Phatthalung offers guests easy access to natural marvels like the Thale Noi Bird Sanctuary and Khao Pu-Khao Ya National Park. Gilles Cretallaz, COO of Dusit International, sees this expansion as an opportunity to introduce guests to the region's wonders and contribute to the area's growth and development.
To mark the opening, the resort is offering a special package until 31 January 2024, starting at TBH 1,500 ++ per night for a Superior Room, including breakfast for two and a 20% discount at Chi Chiao Restaurant.
Dusit’s global presence spans 19 countries with 56 hotels and approximately 240 luxury villas under Elite Havens. The brand anticipates further expansion with over 60 properties in the pipeline worldwide.
