Aer Lingus will operate a temporary direct service between Dublin and Bridgetown in spring 2026, restoring a non-stop link to Barbados for a limited period. The seasonal route is scheduled to run from 31 March until 31 May 2026. It comes after the closure of transatlantic services from Manchester, with the Irish carrier stepping in to accommodate affected demand.

Flights will operate three times a week, departing on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The service will be flown by the Airbus A321XLR, Aer Lingus’ newest long-range narrow-body aircraft. Fares start at €229 one way, including taxes and charges. The airline has placed the route on sale through its usual booking channels.

The A321XLR will be configured in a two-class layout with 184 seats, comprising 16 full-flat Business Class seats and 168 in Economy. The aircraft features larger overhead bins and updated in-flight entertainment systems, along with a quieter cabin design. The type allows Aer Lingus to operate long-haul routes with lower capacity than wide-body aircraft while maintaining non-stop reach.

What the Barbados service includes

  • Direct Dublin–Bridgetown flights from 31 March to 31 May 2026
  • Three weekly departures: Tuesday, Friday and Sunday
  • Airbus A321XLR with 16 Business and 168 Economy seats
  • Fares available from €229 one way

The spring schedule gives Irish holidaymakers a direct Caribbean option at the start of the summer travel period. Barbados offers over 50 beaches, well-known surfing spots and calm west-coast bays, alongside historic Bridgetown and the UNESCO-listed Garrison area. Wildlife encounters, rum distilleries and coastal walks provide alternatives to resort-based stays.

Running for two months only, the route provides a short window for non-stop travel between Ireland and Barbados. The use of the A321XLR shows how airlines are adjusting capacity on long-haul sectors while keeping direct links in place. For anyone considering a Caribbean break in spring 2026, the option is now clearly on the map.
