Disneyland attractions that closed after the Christmas holidays
Disneyland will close several of its rides for scheduled reconstruction. This is usually done after the busy and crowded Christmas season.
According to the Los Angeles Daily News, Small World, Grizzly River Run, Sailing Ship Columbia, and World of Color (a water show) were closed for renovation in January. This is a standard Disneyland schedule.
The other two rides, Astro Orbitor and Mark Twain Riverboat, have been closed for refurbishment before.
The closure coincides with the end of the Christmas season at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure on Sunday, January 7. "It's a Small World will be closed from January 7 to January 18.
Grizzly River Run will close during the coldest time of the year in the usually sunny Southern California, when it will have the lowest number of visitors. Starting Monday, January 8, the Grizzly River Run will be closed for temporary repairs that will last until at least mid-February.
DCA's nightly show will be suspended for the reconstruction from January 8 to February 29.
"The Mark Twain Riverboat has been closed for repairs since mid-September and will reopen on February 3, according to the Disneyland website.
The latest temporary closures do not apply to Splash Mountain, which is being transformed into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. The Critter Country log ride is scheduled to reopen later this year with a new Princess and the Frog theme.
