DiDi and Velocity Frequent Flyer Launch Loyalty Program for Rideshare Passengers
DiDi Australia and Virgin Australia’s Velocity Frequent Flyer program have announced a new partnership that allows Australian users to earn points for every ride taken with DiDi. This collaboration comes as Velocity reaches 12 million members, marking a significant milestone.
To celebrate the partnership, DiDi is offering 1,000 bonus Velocity Frequent Flyer points to those who link their account to the DiDi app by May 15, 2024. The bonus is available to both new and existing customers, making it an attractive incentive for all users.
Now, 4 million DiDi customers in Australia and 12 million Velocity members can earn points for every DiDi rideshare trip, regardless of distance or destination. This innovation makes DiDi the only rideshare company in Australia to offer airline loyalty points for every ride.
Velocity Frequent Flyer points can be used for flights with Virgin Australia and its partner airlines, as well as for booking travel packages, attending entertainment events, and purchasing household goods. The partnership with DiDi expands Velocity's list of partners, which already includes well-known brands like 7-Eleven and Flybuys.
Nick Rohrlach, CEO of Velocity Frequent Flyer, noted that this partnership opens up a new way for program members to earn points through their everyday activities. Dan Jordan, Head of External Affairs at DiDi Australia, emphasized that the partnership offers Australians a new level of service and travel opportunities.
This collaboration represents a significant step forward in the development of loyalty programs, giving customers more ways to earn points and benefit from their participation.
