Delta's Miami Sky Club Reopens with Enhanced Capacity and Chic Design
Just in time for the busy summer travel season, Delta Air Lines has unveiled its newly expanded and stylishly renovated Sky Club at Miami International Airport. This upgrade not only increases the lounge's capacity by 50% but also incorporates vibrant design elements reflective of Miami's iconic scenery.
On April 9, the airline proudly showcased the 12,000-square-foot facility, now capable of accommodating around 300 guests, a significant increase facilitated by the addition of over 4,000 square feet and 100 new seats. The lounge's design draws inspiration from Miami's renowned Art Deco architecture and features a color palette that echoes the city's turquoise waters and sunny skies, enriched with gold and white accents typical of South Florida's style.
Claude Roussel, Vice President of Sky Clubs and Lounge Experience at Delta, commented on the expansion, stating, "Miami is an important global transport hub, with increasing prominence in the Delta network. The expansion and renovation of the MIA Club helps us support the growth in this market and elevates the lounge experience to one suited to the profile of this vibrant city." This statement highlights the strategic importance of the Miami hub in Delta's expanding network.
To cater to the increased patronage, the lounge now includes a new service buffet and an additional beverage station. The seating arrangement has been meticulously designed to cater to the needs of business travelers, offering single-seat dining tables, communal tables with central charging stations, and nearly ubiquitous access to power outlets. From these comfortable seating areas, guests can enjoy a view of the bustling H Concourse below.
Delta's expanded presence at Miami International includes 34 peak-day flights to 12 destinations, encompassing international routes like Havana, Cuba. The growth extends beyond Miami, as Delta plans to introduce new Sky Clubs in Charlotte and Seattle, along with three Delta One Lounges in major cities including New York JFK, Los Angeles LAX, and Boston Logan International, enhancing its lounge network significantly in 2024.
