Delta Expands to Brisbane: A New Seasonal Route from LAX Enhancing the South Pacific Network
Delta Air Lines is set to broaden its horizons with the introduction of a seasonal flight route connecting Los Angeles (LAX) to Brisbane, Australia, starting from December 4, 2024. Operating three times a week until March 28, 2025, this new route marks a significant expansion in Delta's winter schedule to the South Pacific, promising up to 17 weekly flights between the U.S. and Australia.
The addition of Brisbane to Delta's network underscores the airline's commitment to offering an extensive schedule in the region, bringing the total number of Australian cities served to two, including Sydney. Joe Esposito, Delta's Senior Vice President of Network Planning, highlights the enhanced experience that awaits Delta's customers, emphasizing the importance of this expansion in their South Pacific operations.
Brisbane, Australia's third-largest city, offers travelers a wealth of cultural and outdoor experiences. From top-tier art galleries and scenic cycling trails to vibrant food markets and the world’s largest koala sanctuary, the city caters to diverse interests. Its strategic location also provides easy access to iconic Australian destinations such as the Gold Coast, Noosa, The Great Barrier Reef, and the Outback, making it an attractive option for travelers seeking adventure or relaxation.
For Australian travelers, the new route opens up a gateway to the diverse attractions of the United States. With more than 40 convenient one-stop connections from LAX, visitors can explore the scenic beauty of Seattle, the vibrant nightlife of Miami, or the iconic landmarks of New York City, among other destinations.
This initiative is part of Delta's ongoing investment in enhancing connectivity and travel convenience in the South Pacific. Previous expansions include the introduction of additional frequencies and new routes to Sydney, Auckland, and Tahiti, reflecting Delta's position as a leading global carrier at LAX.
Travelers flying the LAX-to-Brisbane route can look forward to a state-of-the-art experience aboard the Airbus A350-900, featuring four distinct product experiences: Delta One Suites, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort+, and Main Cabin. Each class offers unique amenities, from the luxury of Delta One's fully reclining seats to the enhanced comfort and dining experience of Delta Premium Select.
Delta's commitment to a superior travel experience is further highlighted by its innovative Sky Way at LAX, which includes a centralized check-in, expanded security checkpoints, and an award-winning Delta Sky Club.
