China Eastern Airlines Partners with Amadeus for Global NDC Distribution
China Eastern Airlines has signed a landmark agreement with Amadeus to enable global New Distribution Capability (NDC) distribution, marking a significant advancement for the airline and the travel industry. This collaboration makes China Eastern the first airline in Mainland China to partner with Amadeus for worldwide NDC distribution.
The partnership aims to provide richer, customizable content to travel sellers, allowing them to offer travelers enhanced options and better service. Javier Laforgue, Executive Vice President of Amadeus, Asia Pacific, highlighted the deal's significance, noting that it expands Amadeus's presence in the Chinese airline market and deepens collaboration with China Eastern.
With NDC technology, travel sellers can easily access a range of branded and ancillary products from China Eastern, enhancing the customer experience. Fu Jian, Vice President of Commercial Development at China Eastern Airlines, sees NDC as a key tool for boosting international traffic and expanding the airline's reach. This deal will also support the airline's goal of providing more personalized travel options.
China Eastern Airlines, headquartered in Shanghai, is one of China's major airlines and a member of SkyTeam Alliance, with an extensive network covering domestic and international routes. The partnership with Amadeus is expected to improve the airline's distribution capabilities and enhance its presence in the global market. Through this agreement, China Eastern aims to increase its overseas sales channels and accelerate the recovery of international traffic while offering better service and more flexibility to travelers.
