Carnival Cruise Line Drives Demand with Amber Cove and Ensenada Milestones
Carnival Cruise Line, renowned for its Fun Ships that traverse the Atlantic, Gulf coasts, and California, has played a significant role in propelling Amber Cove, Dominican Republic, and Ensenada, Mexico, beyond the one-millionth cruise guest mark.
Amber Cove, situated on the northern coast of the Dominican Republic, welcomed its first Carnival ship in 2015. Operated by Carnival Corporation & plc, the cruise port boasts pools, bars, and various shore excursion opportunities, making it a sought-after island paradise.
Ensenada, one of Mexico’s original seaside getaways, has been a Carnival destination for almost three decades. From historical sightseeing to thrilling ATV riding, Ensenada offers diverse attractions. Carnival’s commitment to Ensenada's growth is evident as they continue to introduce new options, such as the upcoming addition of Carnival Firenze in April 2024, sailing from Long Beach.
Miguel Aguíñiga Rodríguez, Secretary of Tourism of Baja California, acknowledges the collective efforts of the Ensenada Cruise Committee, the Ensenada City Council, the Ensenada National Port System Administration, and Hutchison Ports in achieving this milestone, reinforcing Ensenada’s position as a leading cruise destination in Mexico.
Dominican Republic’s Minister of Tourism David Collado extended congratulations to the Amber Cove cruise terminal, emphasizing the unstoppable growth it signifies for Puerto Plata and its people.
As Carnival Cruise Line continues to connect people with vibrant destinations, the success stories of Amber Cove and Ensenada serve as testaments to the cruise line’s pivotal role in driving tourism and economic prosperity. The upcoming addition of Carnival Firenze further underscores Carnival’s commitment to providing unique and memorable experiences for its guests.
