British Airways Refreshes First Class Champagne and Celebrates Lunar New Year with Special Menu
British Airways is turning a new page in its prestigious first class service by updating its champagne selection and embracing cultural celebrations with a Lunar New Year-themed menu. The UK's flagship carrier has announced a departure from its longstanding champagne partner, Laurent-Perrier Grand Siècle, and the introduction of a festive menu to ring in the Lunar New Year, blending tradition with luxury travel.
Champagne Selection Evolves
For over a decade, passengers in British Airways' First Class have enjoyed the exquisite taste of Laurent-Perrier Grand Siècle, a staple of luxury at 35,000 feet. However, the airline will now transition to a diverse champagne offering, starting March 2024. This new selection begins with Lanson Noble Brut 2005, with Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame 2015 gracing the London to New York JFK route. Additionally, the exclusive Concorde Room will offer Pommery Cuvee Louise 2006, ensuring that the airline's premium customers continue to enjoy top-tier beverages.
Lunar New Year Culinary Journey
To commemorate the Lunar New Year on February 10th, British Airways is also launching a special menu showcasing traditional dishes symbolizing luck and prosperity. This culinary celebration will be available on flights from London to key Asian destinations, including Beijing, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Singapore, with varying schedules tailored to each route. This initiative reflects the airline's dedication to cultural inclusivity and celebration of global festivities.
The festive menu extends beyond First Class, offering delights across all travel classes. First Class passengers can indulge in a black pepper spiced fillet of beef with Chinese seven-spiced broccolini, while Club World guests can enjoy spicy Kung Pao prawns and a white chocolate tangerine mousse. World Traveller Plus and World Traveller passengers will be treated to 'Lion's Head' meatballs, a traditional delicacy, ensuring everyone on board participates in the celebrations.
An Inclusive Celebration
In a unique gesture of goodwill and celebration, British Airways is offering passengers born in the Year of the Dragon the chance to be upgraded to Club World on flights to London during the festival period. This initiative not only honors the Lunar New Year tradition but also enhances the travel experience for lucky passengers.
As British Airways adapts its first class champagne offering and introduces a Lunar New Year menu, it reiterates its commitment to enhancing passenger experience through thoughtful service and cultural celebration. These changes reflect the airline's ongoing efforts to provide a unique and memorable journey for all its passengers, reinforcing its status as a leader in global aviation luxury.
