Avelo Airlines Resumes Seasonal Flights to Orlando from Central Wisconsin
Avelo Airlines has announced the seasonal resumption of its direct flights connecting Central Wisconsin Airport (CWA) with Orlando International Airport (MCO), a service that will recommence on June 5, 2024, after a temporary suspension. Scheduled for Wednesdays and Saturdays, the flights are set to provide a direct link between Central Wisconsin and one of Florida's prime vacation destinations, utilizing Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft.
This decision follows a brief operational pause in May, during which the airline adjusted its schedules to align with the peak demand for travel to Central Florida. The resumed service aims to capitalize on the summer travel season, offering introductory fares starting at $84 one way. The move is part of Avelo's broader strategy to enhance connectivity between underserved communities and popular destinations, emphasizing convenience and affordability.
Trevor Yealy, Avelo Airlines' Head of Commercial, expressed excitement over the return of the Orlando route, noting its popularity among vacationers and those visiting family. He credited the service's success to the strong partnership with Central Wisconsin Airport and the local community, underscoring the airline's commitment to reliability and customer satisfaction.
Since its inception in April 2021, Avelo has quickly expanded its network, now serving 50 destinations across 23 states and Puerto Rico. The airline's operational philosophy prioritizes unserved routes, offering travelers more choices and streamlined services. Notably, Avelo allows flexible travel arrangements, with policies designed to accommodate families and provide customizable travel options, including advanced seat assignments and a variety of travel-enhancing services.
