Alton Towers Spa has closed: What is the reason and what visitors should do
The Alton Towers theme park and resort in Staffordshire, England, has closed its much-loved spa, which was a favourite destination for Brits and foreigners alike. The resort called the decision "difficult but necessary."
The last time tourists could relax there was on December 31, after which the spa closed forever. According to the Independent, the company believes that this step will contribute to further development.
All tourists who managed to book a vacation at the spa in 2024 were promised a refund or an alternative choice.
Employees who lost their jobs will also receive support, with career counseling offered to them in other areas of the resort.
The company's new statement reads, "After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to close the onsite spa. It was a difficult decision, but we believe it is necessary for the future growth and development of the resort."
The spa at Alton Towers has been in operation for over 20 years, providing guests with a sauna, hydromassage, swimming pool and many other facilities.
