Air Canada Launches Groundbreaking Land-Air Connection Service

Air Canada, in a landmark move, has unveiled an innovative partnership with The Landline Company to forge new paths in regional travel. This multimodal service, set to launch in May 2024, aims to seamlessly connect Hamilton and the Region of Waterloo with Toronto Pearson International Airport, marking a significant step towards redefining the travel landscape in Canada.

This pilot project introduces luxury motorcoaches equipped with premium amenities, including spacious leather seating, power outlets, and complimentary WiFi, ensuring a comfortable journey to the airline’s global hub at Toronto Pearson. With full itinerary protection, baggage transfers, and the opportunity to earn Aeroplan points, travelers are promised a hassle-free experience.

Alexandre Lefevre, Air Canada’s Vice President of Network Planning, North America, and Scheduling, highlighted the initiative's dual focus on enhancing regional connectivity and advancing sustainability goals. "By potentially removing tens of thousands of vehicles from the roads annually, we are not only making travel more efficient but also more sustainable," Lefevre stated.

The service is set to operate six round trips daily from both John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport and the Region of Waterloo International Airport. This offering is not just about bridging distances; it’s about offering a streamlined, stress-free transition from ground to air travel. Passengers will check in at their departure airport, board the Air Canada-branded motorcoach, and upon arrival at Toronto Pearson, proceed directly to their connecting flight, with their baggage seamlessly transferred.
