A small plane crashed in New Hampshire near residential buildings: the pilot is in the hospital
A Beech C99 twin-engine airplane from Ameriflight crashed in Litchfield, New Hampshire. There was one pilot on board, who was rescued and taken to a hospital in Boston.
The plane took off from Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT) headed towards Presque Isle (PQI), as reported by Simple Flying. Shortly after takeoff, the plane deviated from its course, flew at a low altitude, and started maneuvering.
Airport control attempted to contact the pilot, but their efforts were unsuccessful. They then transmitted instructions to the pilot, hoping that he would hear about the need to be cautious due to the hills along the route.
The sound of the engines was audible on the radio, but the pilot did not respond. Therefore, it is uncertain why the plane crashed and when the malfunction was noticed.
The crash occurred approximately four miles from MHT Airport, just a few feet from homes in a residential area. Fortunately, the pilot's maneuvers helped avoid hitting people and buildings.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the plane was operating a scheduled flight in the northeastern United States. The 41-year-old C99 pilot with registration number N53RP was at the controls that day.
