A Russian private plane crashed in the mountains of Afghanistan
A Russian Falcon 10B (RA-09011) owned by the Athletic Group and a private individual crashed over Afghanistan.
The plane was on a charter flight from India to the Uzbek capital, Tashkent, and then to the Russian city of Zhukovsky. As previously reported by Rosaviatsiya, there were two passengers and four crew members on board.
The pilots reported technical problems with the aircraft and planned to make an emergency landing. However, on Saturday evening, the aircraft ceased communication while in Afghanistan's airspace, near the border with Tajikistan.
According to Russian media, there were two Russians on board the plane that disappeared from radar in Afghanistan. They are presumed dead.
Experts note that such accidents with Russian planes may become more frequent because, due to the imposition of sanctions, Russian planes are not adequately maintained or repaired, leading to a higher frequency of accidents.
