A new airline will launch budget flights throughout Europe: tickets are already on sale
Established in 2008 as a subsidiary of Turkish Airlines, AnadoluJet Airlines started selling tickets under the new name "Ajet" on its official website on March 12.
With over 16 years of operation, AnadoluJet has transported more than 150 million passengers. Under the new name, the airline aims to enhance flight comfort and affordability for passengers while consolidating its position in the low-cost market. According to the press release, the first flight is scheduled for March 31.
The airline has 95 aircraft in its fleet, which will operate flights to 93 destinations during the summer season of 2024, including 41 domestic and 52 international routes.
However, the carrier sees this as just the beginning and plans to expand its fleet to 200 aircraft over the next decade.
Ticket sales commenced earlier this week, with flights scheduled to depart by the end of the month.
Turkish Airlines traces its origins back to 1933 when it began with 5 aircraft. Since 2008, it has been a full member of the Star Alliance. Presently, its fleet consists of 450 passenger and cargo aircraft, servicing 346 destinations worldwide, comprising 293 international and 53 domestic routes across 130 countries.
As TravelWise reported, choosing the day of the week to book your summer vacation tickets can affect your budget.
