A four-year-old girl from the Czech Republic set a record by conquering Everest Base Camp
Four-year-old Zara Šifra, together with her parents and seven-year-old brother, conquered Everest, reaching the base camp. Thus, the girl, whose exact age is 4 years and 5 months, was able to reach the extreme point of the world's highest mountain at an altitude of 5,300 metres above sea level, completely unassisted.
This event was reported on January 7 by the girl's brother on his Instagram page. Fire News Today reported that the girl became the youngest woman in the world to ever do this.
"We walked about 270 kilometres. My daughter is delighted with the journey, but it's hard to say whether she is fully aware of it, but in any case, she understands that something is happening," said David Šifra, the girl's father.
In general, Zara climbed several five-thousanders as part of the event, and no problems arose during the march. According to the child's father, the acclimatization was above average, given the child's good physical fitness.
David says that the expedition spent the night in hostels, which have very harsh conditions, "The rooms are also cold. The lowest temperature we did not measure was -11°C. We did not underestimate acclimatization. We constantly monitored our blood oxygen saturation and tried to acclimatize as slowly as possible."
Zara is a citizen of the Czech Republic and Canada and currently lives in Malaysia with her parents and brother. From an early age, the girl was brought up by her parents according to the principles that can be observed in tribes leading a primitive lifestyle, improving their physical fitness. In particular, she walks to kindergarten every day, and in 2023, she walked more than 2,200 kilometres through the jungle. In addition, according to her brother Saša, little Zara never bathed in warm water but rather added ice to it, which could have contributed to her successful mountain climbing.
