This lagoon is part of the Caribbean, which stretches over 62 square miles and is located from the east coast to the mangrove wetlands of Codrington Lagoon in the west. This nature reserve is home to approximately 10,000 birds, and in the local caves you can see bats, crabs, iguanas, as well as petroglyphs, or carved drawings of early humans.

Main Ridge Forest Reserve, Trinidad and Tobago
It is the oldest tropical forest reserve in the Western Hemisphere. It was saved from deforestation in the 18th century by scientist Stephen Hales, who claimed that the forest could turn into a barren desert. Eventually, in 1776, about 14,000 acres were declared a Crown protected reserve "for the purpose of attracting the frequent rains on which the fertility of the land in this climate depends entirely."
Grand Etang National Park and Forest Reserve, Grenada
In addition to the picturesque nature of this island, you can see the 3816-acre Grand Etang National Park and Lake Grand Etang, which fills the 36-acre crater of an extinct volcano.
Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary, Belize
This is a completely protected area that hides natural monuments, national parks, as well as bird, forest, and marine reserves. Here you can see real jaguars, monkeys, exotic snakes, and even an inconspicuous Mayan ceremonial site.
