23 countries in 64 days by car: a Kolkata couple offers an unforgettable trip
Traveling from Kolkata to London by car may seem like a real madness, but it is quite real.
The idea belongs to a couple of anesthesiologists and businessmen - Dr. Debanjali and Kaushik Ray. This 64-day journey, which will begin in Kolkata, will involve 15 adventure enthusiasts. They will travel 18,000 kilometers in 64 days and visit 23 countries. The trip will start in August this year and end in October, the Times of India reports.
"In 2018, my wife and I went on an eight-month trip, and it was the adventure of a lifetime. Everyone we knew advised us not to do it. In the end, we spent our savings, but the adrenaline rush of visiting so many countries was unbeatable," Kaushik said.
Subsequently, it made it possible for a larger group of travel enthusiasts to come together for this Hoogly-Thames trip.
Countries to be covered: India, Nepal, China, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iran, Armenia, Georgia, Turkey, Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia, Hungary, Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Germany, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Austria, France, UK
"The passion for traveling is enhanced by sharing it with others. As soon as we complete the journey, our cars will be delivered from the UK and we will fly back to our homes in India," said the author of the idea.
