Ukrainian airline Skyline Express resumes flights for the first time since the beginning of the war: where you can travel
For the first time since the start of the war, Ukrainian airline Skyline Express (formerly Azur Air Ukraine) is resuming flights.
A year has passed since its last flight, avianews.com reports. Finally, the airline has started flying to resort destinations in Europe, Avianews reports.
Skyline Express uses a newly received Boeing 757-300 aircraft with UR-SLE registration for transportation.
The first flights, which started on 26 May, are between Katowice, Warsaw and the Bulgarian seaside resort of Burgas.
It is worth noting that Skyline Express has become the fourth domestic airline to resume passenger flights after the outbreak of war.
It is worth noting that SkyUp and Windrose are currently also operating flights with passengers on behalf of other airlines and tour operators.
We would like to add that according to the State Register of Legal Entities, Azur Air Ukraine changed its name to Skyline Express in March 2023.
The situation was ambiguous, as the old airline was affiliated with Anex Tour, a tour operator that was active in the Russian market.
It is worth noting that Azur Air, which was included in the US sanctions list, continues to operate in Russia.
It is possible that the owners of Azur Air Ukraine were trying to get rid of accusations of cooperation with Russian business.
For reference: Azur Air Ukraine used to be called UTair-Ukraine and was a subsidiary of the Russian airline UTair. Later, the airline was bought by Anex Tour and renamed Azur Air Ukraine. And after the outbreak of war, the airline was renamed Skyline Express.
