The U.S. Department of State has published statistics on the denial of B1/B2 nonimmigrant visas for fiscal year 2023. The absolute record holders are North Korea and the Federated States of Micronesia. 100% of applicants were denied a visa.

According to statistics, the top ten countries are as follows:

1. North Korea and the Federated States of Micronesia - 100% of refusals;

2. Liberia - 78.19%;

3. Laos - 72.79%;

4. Rwanda - 71.09%;

5. Senegal - 70.47%;

6. Somalia - 69.89%;

7. Djibouti - 68.37%;

8. Burundi - 66.29%;

9. Eritrea - 61.97%;

10. Guinea - 61.37%.

We would like to add that visa applicants are now being scrutinized very carefully. In addition, some of these countries have high rates of poverty, unemployment, and crime, which can also contribute to refusals.

Other reasons for refusal include financial difficulties that make it impossible to stay in the United States, lack of purpose, the applicant's criminal record or other criminal cases, and non-compliance with other important visa requirements.
