The SkyStar Ferris wheel moved to the city's iconic waterfront in November 2023, just in time for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders' Summit. Initially, it spent three years in the music hall of the Golden Gate Park.

Since its arrival at Rybalskaya Prystan, SkyStar has been entertaining drivers with an unrivaled view of the city's waterfront. SkyStar Wheel LLC's first six-month license for special events at the Port of San Francisco expires on April 30, 2024. It is reported by poandpo.com.

Since its opening in November last year, SkyStar has welcomed more than 90,000 passengers and doubled passenger traffic compared to the same period in 2022.

In addition, SkyStar will continue to give away 500 free tickets to disadvantaged groups every month to ensure equal access to one of San Francisco's most famous attractions.

The SkyStar Ferris wheel is located near the famous Boudin Bistro and Pier 39. It helps to attract thousands of visitors to the area every day, offering drivers unparalleled views of San Francisco and the Bay, including Alcatraz Island and the Golden Gate Bridge.

The presence of the Ferris Wheel at Fisherman's Wharf, which attracts about 13 million people every year, helps to create a fun atmosphere in the area for tourists and residents alike.

The SkyStar Ferris wheel appeared in Golden Gate Park in early 2020 as part of the park's 150th anniversary celebration. In October 2023, the wheel was closed to the public so that crews could begin careful dismantling and preparations for its installation at its new location on the waterfront.

Golden Gate Park's proximity to popular destinations such as the de Young Museum, the California Academy of Sciences, Bandshell, and the Japanese Tea Garden has made it a favorite destination.

Over the three years of its existence, more than 650,000 people have enjoyed the Ferris wheel and the breathtaking views it offers.

Pier 39 is one of the city's most visited attractions, second only to the Golden Gate Bridge, according to a 2022 visitor survey conducted by the San Francisco Tourism Association. The SkyStar Ferris wheel was ranked 9th most visited out of 35 attractions included in the survey.

The Skystar Ferris wheel is 150 feet high and has 36 gondolas that can accommodate a maximum of six people. Regular admission to the attraction costs $18. Seniors (65+) and children under 12 years old pay $12. Children under two years old ride for free.
