A passenger on board an Aeromexico Boeing 737 flying from Mexico City to Ciudad Juarez suddenly went into labour. The woman gave birth to a child in the cabin on March 15, and both were in satisfactory condition at the time of landing.

After landing in Ciudad Juarez, the passenger and her baby were taken to the hospital. Fortunately, there was a doctor in the cabin who delivered the baby, Simple Flying writes.

The Aeromexico plane was operating a regular flight between Mexico City International Airport (MEX) and Ciudad Juarez International Airport (CJS).

According to the airline's statement, the passenger received immediate assistance from a flight attendant and a doctor. Aeromexico thanked them for their professional response and assistance to the pregnant woman.

After landing at Ciudad Juárez International Airport, the mom and her baby were rushed to the hospital. There was no bad news from there, so we can assume that both of them are feeling stable.

The flight time between Mexico City Airport and CJS is about two hours, so the birth was quick. Airplane births are very rare, but they do happen. There are almost a hundred such cases in history.

Usually, companies do not advise passengers with late-term pregnancies to fly as this can affect their health.

In addition, the first aid kit on board the plane does not provide all the necessary medical supplies for an emergency delivery, and there is no obstetrician on board unless one of the random passengers happens to be one.

As previously reported by TravelWise, an EasyJet flight was interrupted due to the illness of one of the passengers.
