MSC Cruises and Chantiers de l’Atlantique celebrated significant milestones in the construction of their futuristic World Class ships at Seatrade Cruise Global, Miami. The steel-cutting ceremony for World 3, scheduled for delivery in 2026, marked the beginning of construction.

The new ship, named MSC World Asia, adheres to the World Class tradition of naming ships after continents. While operational details remain undisclosed, MSC World Asia will incorporate design elements and experiences inspired by Asia.

Meanwhile, MSC World America achieved a pivotal moment with its float out on April 7th at the Saint-Nazaire shipyard in France. The ultramodern flagship now enters its final construction phase and is set to be named on April 9th, 2025, at MSC Cruises’ state-of-the-art terminal in PortMiami. The ship's maiden voyage will be to Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, a private island in The Bahamas recognized for its conservation efforts.

Pierfrancesco Vago, Executive Chairman of MSC Cruises, emphasized the continuous innovation and collaboration with Chantiers de l’Atlantique, striving to enhance environmental technology and onboard experiences. Laurent Castaing, General Manager of Chantiers de l’Atlantique, expressed pride in the environmental advancements of MSC World Asia, underscoring the long-term partnership's commitment to sustainability.

MSC World America promises a unique cruising experience tailored to the North American market, featuring enriching activities for various demographics. The ship boasts MSC Cruises' signature European design, providing comfort and diverse experiences across its 22 decks and expansive public spaces.

The World Class ships are renowned for their striking silhouette and environmentally conscious design. With a focus on reducing carbon footprint, MSC World Asia will join the fleet as the fourth LNG-powered vessel. MSC Cruises prioritizes LNG as a pathway to maritime decarbonization, leveraging new-generation dual-fuel engines to minimize emissions. Additionally, onboard initiatives such as shore power connectivity, smart technology for energy efficiency, and comprehensive recycling programs underscore MSC Cruises' commitment to sustainability.

MSC Cruises and Chantiers de l’Atlantique's collaboration marks a significant step towards innovative and sustainable cruising, setting new standards in the industry.
