Helsinki Lands a New Daily Dubai Connection
Emirates has launched its first scheduled passenger flights to Finland, with a daily Helsinki–Dubai service starting on 1 October. The service operates throughout the year and is currently the only year-round nonstop air connection between Finland and the UAE. It gives Helsinki a new direct link to Dubai and adds another long-haul option for travellers planning trips between Finland, the Gulf and destinations beyond.

Getting out of Helsinki Airport is straightforward even without a taxi. I and P trains serve the city centre, while bus 600 provides another direct public-transport option. The airport sits in HSL zone C and central Helsinki in zone A, so an ABC ticket is required. Until 4 October, every other I train turns back at Myyrmäki and services are reduced on the western side of the Ring Rail Line, so check the HSL Journey Planner before choosing your airport connection.
Beyond Helsinki, several Finnish destinations are easy to reach by rail. Tikkurila, a major railway station in Vantaa, is around 10 minutes from the airport and connects with trains towards Tampere and Rovaniemi. Turku can be reached by changing at Pasila, while Porvoo’s historic old town is about an hour by bus from Helsinki’s Kamppi terminal and works as a year-round side trip.
Travellers heading beyond Helsinki can simplify the rail part of the trip by selecting Helsinki Airport as their starting station when booking with VR. The ticket can include both the airport commuter train and the onward long-distance journey. Tampere is just over an hour from Tikkurila, while night trains continue north to Rovaniemi, making a same-day onward journey possible without adding another flight.
