Many countries allow for multiple nationalities, and of the world's population, only about 15% have citizenship in developed countries, including the EU, Canada, Australia, Japan, South Korea, and the United States. This not only gives the benefit of having citizenship in these countries, but also a sense of increased value of the passport when traveling abroad.

By 2020, 76% of countries had adopted a favorable attitude towards dual/multiple citizenship. Oceania led the way with the highest level of approval for dual citizenship (93%), followed by the Americas (91%), Asia (85%), Europe (80%), and then Africa (70%), Insider Monkey writes.

Multiple citizenship offers many advantages. For example, Americans are actively seeking multiple passports as insurance against economic shocks. They increasingly consider Europe a viable second home.

Increased global mobility can unlock numerous economic benefits. Therefore, it is not surprising that many millionaires from the country are moving to Europe or the Caribbean using citizenship-for-investment schemes.

In addition, dual citizenship also enables people around the world to relocate for a better quality of life, better education, and higher-paying job opportunities.
