Wizz Air is among the world's safest airlines
According to the Hungarian travel blog Utazómajom, Wizz Air was chosen as one of the best among 385 companies. This was reported in the Daily News Hungary.
AirlineRatings noted that in order to determine the 20 safest low-cost airlines, they examined such indicators as: incident records for the last two years, accident records for the last five years, the results of inspections conducted by the aviation governing body, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), lists of prohibited air travel in the EU, and fleet age.
Wizz Air Communications Manager Zsuzsa Trubek said: "With the AirlineRatings award, Wizz Air is reinforcing its global leadership role not only in sustainability but also in safety."
The companies included in the AirlineRatings list: Air Arabia, AirAsia, AirAsia X, AirAsia Thailand, AirAsia Philippines and AirAsia India, Air Baltic, Easyjet, FlyDubai, Frontier, Jetstar Group, Jetblue, Indigo, Ryanair, Scoot, Southwest, Spicejet, Spirit, Vueling, Vietjet, Volaris, Westjet and Wizz Air.
