Vietnam intends to receive up to 18 million foreign tourists in 2024
This tourist year, Vietnam plans to attract as many tourists as possible to the country. The National Administration of Tourism believes that in 2024 Vietnam will be able to receive 17 to 18 million international visitors.
In addition, representatives of the organization noted that such tourism growth will bring approximately VND840 trillion (USD34.7 billion) to the country's budget. This is stated in the report, which was released during a briefing in 2023, GGRAsia reports.
It is reported that Vietnam received 12.6 million foreign visitors last year. This is significantly more than in 2022 and almost 70% higher than the number of tourists in 2019. Thus, total tourism revenue in 2023 amounted to VND 678 trillion.
In addition, according to the Vietnam Department of Tourism, at the end of 2023, the country had about 38,000 tourist accommodation facilities with a total of 780,000 rooms. Among the facilities, there are 247 five-star hotels that offer a total of about 80,896 rooms.
