UAE national carrier launches two new routes to India
Tourists from the United Arab Emirates will now be able to fly to two Indian cities without a stopover. The popular destinations became available on January 1 this year.
Etihad Airways has broken into the new year with daily flights from Abu Dhabi to Kozhikode (CCJ) and Thiruvananthapuram (TRV) in the Indian region of Kerala. This is reported by Khaleej Times.
Previously, the national carrier served eight airports in India, but in 2024 this number increased to 10.
In 2023, the airline resumed flights to Kolkata and also increased the frequency of flights to Mumbai and Delhi, two of its most popular routes.
Kozhikode, a city on the Malabar coast, is a popular destination for tourists looking for a beach vacation. The city is located in an area characterized by a monsoon climate and is also more difficult to reach by ship, so flights will be a lifesaver for many tourists.
Thiruvananthapuram, one of the southernmost points of India, can also offer travelers a fabulous vacation on the coast of the Lakkadu Sea.
This year, Etihad Airways is preparing to launch new flights to Boston, USA, starting March 31, as well as to Nairobi, Kenya, starting May 1, and Nice, France. It will also be possible to fly to the Greek islands of Mykonos and Santorini.
