Two Scottish restaurants named the best newcomers in UK's national guide
The first list of Condé Nast Traveller's Best New Restaurant Awards in the UK has been published, and two Scottish restaurants have made it to the top 23.
A number of foodies, chefs (including Glasgow's Julie Lin) and editors have compiled a list of new discoveries, detailing the 23 best new restaurants and why they love them, Scotsman.com reports.
The 23 restaurants include rural eateries, Michelin-starred restaurants, and urban hotspots.
Which Scottish restaurants were named the best newcomers in the UK?
Eórna in Edinburgh and Fish Shop in Ballater made the list.
Speaking of Eórna, the judges said, "A team of top chefs and sommeliers are behind Edinburgh's newest and smartest fine dining restaurant."
Speaking of Fish Shop, the latest project by ArtFarm, the team behind the neighbouring Fife Arms Hotel, Conde Nast experts said, "Just 25 minutes from Scotland's most elegant hotel, The Fife Arms, is its sister hotel, the deceptively named Fish Shop. It is a beautifully decorated seafood restaurant serving Scottish fish and shellfish."
As TravelWise reported, six of the 10 most expensive restaurants in the world serve sushi.
