Travel to Zimbabwe: what two UNESCO World Heritage Sites can be found here
Travelers planning a trip to exotic Zimbabwe, a country in Southern Africa, should not lose sight of two World Heritage sites. These places are worth the attention of foreigners interested in local culture and nature.
To visit these two unique locations, you don't even need to travel around the country for a long time, as they are located near the second largest city in Zimbabwe - Bulawayo. According to The South African, Bulawayo is also called the "City of Kings".
The settlement itself already deserves the admiring glances of tourists. This city is calm, beautiful and comfortable. However, for a deeper exploration of the region's culture, it is worth visiting the Tomb of Rhodes in Matobo National Park.
This area is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. It is located less than an hour away and attracts tourists with a population of black and white rhinos.
A walk through the hills in the park will especially appeal to fans of outdoor activities and wildlife.
And 22 km west of Bulawayo, you can find the ruins of Hami, which remained from the settlement of the same name.
The still-preserved structures of the ancient African civilization were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1986. Here you can see platforms and retaining walls lined with bricks and other ancient structures.
