Tourists traveling to the Canary Islands have been warned of storm danger: where there will be rain and wind
Tourists planning a trip to the Canary Islands, one of the most popular Spanish destinations, have been advised to prepare for bad weather conditions. The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has issued a yellow warning due to powerful wind gusts in Tenerife and La Palma.
The worst weather is expected in the northern part of the largest island of the Canary Islands archipelago. According to the Express, the yellow warning will remain in effect until January 15, and on Tuesday it will be raised to the orange level.
The storm warning will remain in effect until at least 21:00 on January 16. The strongest wind gusts, which are forecast to reach 90 km/h, are expected in La Palma and high points of Tenerife.
A moderate danger, yellow warning, will also be announced on January 16 in Gran Canaria, La Gomera and El Hierro.
In addition to strong winds and waves, precipitation is also expected. In some regions of La Palma, it will rain on Tuesday. Forecasters predict 15 mm of precipitation per hour.
