The strongest and weakest passports in the world in 2024 have been named
On January 10, 2024, Henley & Partners presented the results of the World Passport Index for the first quarter of 2024, based on data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
For the first time in 19 years of observations, six countries took the top spot in the ranking: Germany, France, Italy, Japan, Singapore, and Spain.
Citizens of these countries have access to 194 visa-free destinations. South Korea, Finland, and Sweden ranked second (193 visa-free destinations). Austria, Denmark, Ireland, and the Netherlands are in third place (192).
South Korea, Finland, and Sweden secured second place with 193 visa-free destinations, while Austria, Denmark, Ireland, and the Netherlands shared the third spot with 192 visa-free destinations. The United Kingdom moved to the fourth position with 191 visa-free destinations, and the United States is in seventh place with 187 visa-free destinations - noteworthy is that both of these countries held the top positions in the ranking in 2014.
On the lower end of the rankings, Iraq (31), Syria (29), and Afghanistan (28) complete the list.
