The President of Argentina flew to the World Economic Forum summit in economy class on Lufthansa
Argentine President Javier Milei set an example of how leaders and influential officials can show modesty by taking a regular commercial flight with the German carrier Lufthansa. He attended the World Economic Forum summit in Davos with four delegates.
The politicians flew from Buenos Aires to Zurich via Frankfurt am Main in economy class. Photos with the Argentine president appeared on the social network X (formerly Twitter).
This is an extraordinary step by the country's leader, but Milei noted that this decision allowed the government to save $392,000 on travel.
Passengers on the plane had time to take pictures with the president. It is also reported that Milei discussed political issues with tourists before his speech at the summit, and many did not miss the chance to take a selfie with the prominent figure.
Although the leader of the state has repeatedly stated that he is seeking to cut costs on things like travel, passengers were still surprised and happy to see the delegation.
This step shows that government officials should save on luxury and not shy away from regular commercial flights if they can use them.
