The English national team is preparing for the European Football Championship on the luxurious territory of Germany
The year 2024 will bring several major sporting events that will attract millions of people around the world. Among them is the European Football Championship, which will kick off on the fields of Germany.
One of the favorites is the England national team, which will have its base camp near Leipzig in Eastern Germany at Golfresort Weimarer Land. This is a five-star resort that has everything the players may need for training and recreation, according to TalkSport.
It is noted that the spa and golf resort is located approximately 220 miles from Gelsenkirchen, where they kick off their campaign against Serbia on Sunday, June 16.
England's other matches will be played in Frankfurt and Cologne, which are approximately 170 and 240 miles from the base camp, making it a fitting location for the Three Lions.
It is emphasized that there are two full-size soccer fields on the premises. A fully equipped gym and a wellness center complete the fitness facilities of the resort. Additionally, there are golf courses available. Weimarer Land features two 18-hole courses and a 9-hole option.
The hotel itself has 94 rooms. Prices at Weimarer Land start at £300 per night, and there is a selection of snooker tables and other leisure activities.
Interestingly, England players and staff will have time to spend with their partners and families, but they will not stay together.
Speaking about this decision in 2023, Gareth Southgate, who heads the England national football team, said: "We have a great environment with our players. We want their families to be able to go and enjoy the tournament as well."
It is noted that the Weimarer Land complex is very secluded and private and should be an ideal base for England's Euro campaign.
