The Bundestag supported the legalization of cannabis in Germany
Germany has reached the home stretch in the issue of cannabis legalization - the Bundestag has supported the document.
If the law is passed by the Bundesrat and signed by the president, it will be implemented in two stages, Euronews reports.
Starting April 1, people over 18 will be allowed to grow up to three cannabis bushes at home for personal use, as well as to possess up to 50 grams of marijuana for personal use.
It will be allowed to have up to 25 grams of marijuana in public. Then, in July, it will be allowed to create non-profit "cannabis clubs" (maximum 500 people) that will be able to grow cannabis plants for their members.
It is noted that the bill, which partially legalizes the cultivation, sale, and possession of cannabis, is aimed at combating the black market and reducing crime.
As TravelWise wrote, one of the main attractions is the unique coffee shops in Amsterdam that serve marijuana.
