The best views in the world: which place in Greece is worth visiting for tourists
Millions of tourists visit Greece throughout the year, but there is one journey that has been named one of the best in Europe. It's no secret that Greece boasts one of the most beautiful tourist routes in Europe.
We're talking about a journey through the winding mountain roads of Zagori, which have been named one of the most beautiful in the world. These serpentine roads are not the easiest, but they are worth it, travel experts say about this journey, as reported by TheSun.
As Time Out points out, there is no set way to travel through Zagori, meaning that every vacationer can easily find their own personalized itinerary. You will also find many attractions here, including stopping at places like the Monastery of St. Paraskeva.
There are other attractions as well, including tiny villages such as Dilofo, Vitsa, Kapesovo, and Tsepelovo. Other attractions include the Kokkori Bridge, a stone bridge between two steep cliffs.
The nearest national airport to Zagori is Ioannina, but flights from here are only to Athens. It takes just over four hours to travel from Corfu Airport to Zagori.
For British tourists, it is worth remembering that Ryanair operates direct flights, and the cost of a one-way ticket starts at £20. Zagori also has many mountain resorts, hotels, and bed and breakfast options.
According to travel experts, they found an overnight stay for £31.50 per person at the three-star Machalas Hotel. There are other options, including boutique hotels with rooms starting at £126 per night.
In addition, Greece has some of the most beautiful islands in the world. For example, Tinos is not as popular, despite being twice as big as Mykonos. But it is predicted to become a popular vacation choice due to its excellent local food and sandy beaches.
However, there is no airport, so tourists will have to take a 35-minute ferry from Mykonos. Alternatively, you can head to Anafi, which is close to (and similar to) Santorini but more popular with locals than tourists.
Local website Greek Reporter wrote: "The view from Chora is very similar to the view from the caldera in Santorini. And underrated Paros has a wave of new hotels opening in anticipation of more tourists."
