The airport in Istanbul offers its clients the services of therapy dogs
iGA Istanbul Airport offers its customers with a fear of flying the opportunity to reduce stress with the help of therapy dogs. This initiative is the first of its kind in Turkey and will be carried out as part of the Therapy Dog Project.
Therapy dogs are supposed to reduce anxiety and help passengers relax before their flight while interacting with them. This was reported by the press service of İGA Istanbul Airport.
The project involves 5 dogs, whose training and care are provided by a team led by Volkan Arslan, a veterinarian at İGA Istanbul Airport. It is noted that the dogs will be on duty in the international departures area throughout the day and will be available for interaction during peak hours.
"Many scientific studies have proven the positive impact of human-animal interaction on blood pressure, stress, and anxiety levels. Based on this research, we aim to provide a joyful and stress-free travel experience at our airport with our therapy dogs. In this way, we want our guests to leave our airport happy and with fond memories," said Abdulkadir Demirtas, Customer Service Manager at iGA Istanbul Airport.
