Thai farmer and artist Tanyapong Jaiham "painted" cats on his fields by planting crops in a specific arrangement.
He was assisted by about 200 volunteers. The rice seedlings change color as they grow, and the farmer also used different varieties. "The key is to position the plants correctly, and over time, the rice will take on different shades," explains the idea's originator, as reported by the BBC.
His team utilized drones to ensure the seeds were planted accurately.
Special observation towers were erected in the corners of the field so that visitors could enjoy the spectacle.
The artist was inspired by the Japanese art of Tanbo, which involves creating paintings on rice fields.
