In an innovative move to enhance its in-flight dining experience, TAP Air Portugal has announced a new culinary initiative that brings the rich flavors of Portuguese cuisine to the skies. Business class passengers on long-haul flights will now have the privilege of savoring dishes prepared by an elite group of Portuguese chefs, showcasing the best of the country's regional gastronomy. This initiative is part of TAP's ongoing effort to celebrate and promote Portuguese culinary heritage on an international scale.

The airline has partnered with six renowned chefs - Arnaldo Azevedo, André Cruz, Rodrigo Castelo, Carlos Afonso, Alexandre Silva, and Rui Paula - as part of its "Local Stars" initiative. These chefs have been tasked with creating exclusive menus that highlight signature ingredients and dishes from their respective regions in Portugal. The collaboration is in conjunction with The Art of Tasting Portugal, an organization dedicated to promoting Portuguese gastronomy through experiences that explore the culinary essence of each region.

Portugal's cuisine, influenced by its Mediterranean location, French culinary techniques, and a history of spice trading, offers a diverse and rich palate. The new in-flight menu features selections like Maronesa Beef, Confit Codfish, Chickpea and Green Sauce Salad, and an array of traditional desserts, ensuring that passengers can enjoy a culinary journey through Portugal without leaving their seats.

This initiative not only aims to provide a unique dining experience for travelers but also serves as an ambassador for Portuguese cuisine, introducing its diverse flavors to a global audience. The menus, updated monthly, promise a fresh gastronomic exploration on each flight, encouraging repeat customers to look forward to new culinary discoveries.

Premium passengers on TAP's long-haul Business Class flights are eligible to enjoy these gourmet offerings until April 2025. The airline emphasizes the use of fresh, sustainably sourced ingredients, paired with exclusively Portuguese wines and served on Portuguese porcelain dinnerware, to complete the authentic dining experience.

TAP Air Portugal, recognized for its safety and modern fleet, continues to expand its reach, especially with recent additions to its North American routes. This culinary enhancement further solidifies TAP's reputation as a carrier that prioritizes passenger experience, from comfort and safety to gastronomy.
